Responsibilities
- Uses survey CADD software to assist in preparation of mapping plats, maps, descriptions, ALTA surveys and other deliverables, Topographic Mapping, Digital Terrain Models (DTM's), Point Databases, and calculations for field crews
- Drafts legal descriptions and other survey documents
- Affords assistance to licensed surveyors with resolving Right of Way/property boundaries by researching property information
- Interprets maps and deeds necessary for creating accurate property descriptions
- Peer reviews other technicians’ CADD mapping work
- Generates records requests for utility information and maps existing utilities
- Provides support related to storage, transportation, assembly, operation and maintenance of survey equipment and vehicles as needed
- Completes training and attends meetings as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; BS or AA with a survey or drafting emphasis preferred; equivalent experience considered in lieu of formal education
- 2-6+ years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Proficient in survey drafting software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, TopoDOT, and Trimble Business Center (TBC), InRoads)
- Basic knowledge of survey calculations, principles, terms and deliverables
- Drafting/CADD certificates preferred
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities
