Survey Technician - CADD Tech

Atlas · Redmond, WA · 4 wk ago
On-siteInformation Technology$30.77–$62.5/hrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? Actually the posting includes "Job Description" and "Core Responsibilities", "You’ll thrive here if you have", "What You Can Expect From Us", "About The Job". Also there is "About Atlas" intro. We need to use

for section headings: e.g., About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We must not repeat job title as heading. We must not include Job ID etc. We must preserve all substantive info, remove boilerplate (cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions). Also we must include a section only when posting has real specific content for it; never emit heading with filler placeholder. We need to decide which sections to include based on content. We have: - About Atlas (company overview) - could be "About the role"? Actually "About the role" is generic heading for role description. The posting includes "Job Description" which describes role. Could map to "About the role". We'll put that as

About the role

with paragraph(s) summarizing the job description (but we must not summarize away detail; we must preserve all substantive info, not invent or summarize away detail. However we can keep the content as paragraphs, not summarizing. So we can copy the job description text as paragraphs. - Core Responsibilities: list of duties. Use
  • . - Requirements/Qualifications/Skills: The posting includes "You’ll thrive here if you have" which lists experience, understanding, skills, proficiency, driver's license, bonus points, LSIT/EIT, travel ability. This could be split into Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. But we need to decide sections based on content. We have specific items: at least 3 years experience using AutoCAD/Civil 3D (requirement). Solid understanding of surveying principles, control networks, engineering plan reading (qualification/skill). Strong math, critical thinking, written/verbal communication skills (skill). Proficiency with everyday business tools, including Word and Excel (skill). Valid driver's license and ability to meet hiring requirements (requirement). Bonus points for experience with MicroStation etc (preferred qualification). LSIT/EIT certification is also a plus (preferred). Ability to travel up to 25% (requirement?). We could group into Requirements (must-haves) and Preferred Qualifications (bonus). But the instruction says use headings like Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We can create sections for each that have content. We have "What You Can Expect From Us" which includes benefits: Health & Wellness, Time Off & Family Support, Retirement, Insurance, Safety Program, Learning & Development, Belonging, Flexibility. Also includes values etc. That's benefits. So we can have

    Benefits

    with
    • items. We also have Pay: "Compensation: $30.77 - $62.50 Hourly Rate". Also note "The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience." That's specific pay info. So we should include Pay section. Schedule: Not explicitly mentioned besides "full-time, non-exempt position". Could infer schedule is full-time. But we should not create Schedule section unless posting actually states them. It says "This is a full-time, non-exempt position". That's schedule info (full-time). So we could include Schedule section with that detail. However the instruction: "never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them." It does state full-time, so we can include Schedule. We also have "About The Job Career Level: Associate Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: ..." This duplicates some info. We'll avoid duplication. We need to remove boilerplate: EEO statement, Notice to Third Party Agencies, "Ready to build a career..." etc. Also remove duplicated lines. We need to preserve all substantive info: company overview, job description, responsibilities, requirements, benefits, pay, schedule. We must not repeat job title as heading. So no heading for "Survey Technician - CADD Tech". Good. We must output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown fences. Let's structure:

      About the role

Atlas is a trusted leader in environmental and infrastructure consulting services; we provide services that enable communities to flourish and thrive. With a team of 3,500 employees and offices throughout the US, we combine local expertise and a network of relationships to deliver solutions to both public and private clients. As a Survey Technician - CADD Tech, you will help deliver accurate survey and mapping work that supports field operations and keeps infrastructure projects moving safely and efficiently. In this role, you’ll partner with field crews, project managers, and project surveyors to prepare mapping deliverables, perform calculations, review plans, and support quality work from office to field. This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Redmond, Washington. Join a dynamic, value-driven, client- and community-focused environment where your work creates a lasting positive impact for the people and communities we serve.

That's about the role and company overview. Then Responsibilities:

      Responsibilities

      • Create and update survey and mapping deliverables, including record maps, ALTA maps, parcel maps, and topographic surveys.
      • Prepare project materials for field crews, including record research, field crew prep, and data support.
      • Perform survey design work and calculations in AutoCAD/Civil 3D to support mapping and construction-related survey projects.
      • Partner closely with project managers and project surveyors to support boundary analysis, retracement work, and project execution.
      • Review project design plans for consistency, prepare RFIs, and maintain organized logs of changes, questions, and responses.
      • Support quality control by reducing field notes, downloading data collectors, checking survey data, and preparing technical calculations and reports for project needs.
Then Requirements (maybe combine experience, driver's license, travel). We'll also have Qualifications and Skills sections. We have: - At least 3 years of experience using AutoCAD/Civil 3D. (Requirement) - A solid understanding of surveying principles, control networks, and engineering plan reading. (Qualification) - Strong math, critical thinking, and written/verbal communication skills (Skill) - Proficiency with everyday business tools, including Word and Excel. (Skill) - A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet hiring requirements, including background screening and drug testing. (Requirement) - Bonus points for experience with MicroStation (InRoads/OpenRoads), StarNet, Leica office software, laser scanning/point clouds, LiDAR, or field survey equipment such as total stations, GPS, and levels. (Preferred Qualification) - LSIT or EIT certification is also a plus. (Preferred Qualification) - The ability to travel up to 25% as project needs require. (Requirement) We could create sections:

      Requirements

      • A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet hiring requirements, including background screening and drug testing.
      • Ability to travel up to 25% as project needs require.

      Qualifications

      • A solid understanding of surveying principles, control networks, and engineering plan reading.

      Skills

      • Strong math, critical thinking, and written/verbal communication skills.
      • Proficiency with everyday business tools, including Word and Excel.
But we need to avoid duplication: The "Bonus points..." and LSIT/EIT could be under Qualifications (preferred). That's fine. Now Benefits: We have list: Health & Wellness (medical, dental, vision coverage with multiple plan options, including no-cost employee-only medical coverage). Time Off & Family Support (vacation time, paid holidays, sick & safety leave (SSL) and paid parental leave). Retirement (401(k) and company match). Insurance (Life, AD&D and Disability insurance). Safety Program (approved PPE at no cost and reimbursement for prescription safety glasses and protective footwear). Learning & Development (clear career paths, learning resources and development programs, internal certifications, tuition reimbursement). Belonging (Employee Communities). Flexibility (may vary by project demands and regional workloads, but committed to providing reasonable accommodation). Also values etc but those are not benefits; we can ignore. We'll create

      Benefits

      with
      • each benefit category. Pay:

        Pay

Compensation: $30.77 - $62.50 Hourly Rate. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

        Schedule:

        Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Redmond, Washington.

We should ensure we don't repeat location elsewhere? Already in About the role we mentioned based in Redmond, Washington. It's okay to repeat but we should avoid duplication? The instruction: "Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail." It doesn't forbid duplication, but we should try to avoid duplicated lines. However location appears in both About the role and Schedule. Could we keep location only in Schedule and remove from About the role? But About the role includes description of role and mentions location; it's substantive. If we remove it, we lose that detail. However we could keep it in About the role and not repeat in Schedule; but Schedule needs to convey full-time non-exempt. Could we phrase Schedule as "Full-time, non-exempt position." without location? That would still be substantive. The location is already in About the role, so we can drop it from Schedule to avoid duplication. Let's do that. Thus Schedule:

        Full-time, non-exempt position.

Now we need to ensure we didn't include any boilerplate like EEO, Notice to Third Party Agencies, "Ready to build a career..." etc. We excluded those. Check for any other boilerplate: "Our people and our culture are central to our work..." that's values; not required but could be considered part of About the role? It's not a section heading we have; we could include it in About the role as a paragraph? It's substantive about culture. The instruction: preserve ALL substantive information. So we should include that as well. It's under "Our people and our culture are central to our work..." after Benefits? Actually after Benefits section there is a paragraph about values. That is substantive about company culture. We could incorporate into About the role or maybe a separate section like "About Atlas" but we don't have a heading for that. We could add a paragraph under About the role after the initial company overview. Let's include it. We have the paragraph: "Our people and our culture are central to our work. Our values bring us together, create a sense of belonging and give us purpose. They guide how we make decisions, how we work as a team and how we serve our clients. Life: We enhance the quality of life. We value
