Survey/CADD Technician

Position Summary

Responsible for the overall completion of the data processing phase of specific field survey projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Performs topographic plotting, terrain modeling, plat preparation, note reduction and design file generation
• Performs office survey activities in accordance with Minimum Standards of Practice for Surveying
• Performs property owner and utility records research
• Performs office computations necessary for the completion of task assignments including QA/QC
• Tracks job progress
• Coincides information for stakeout services
• Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy
• Presents finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records and other survey reports

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
• Valid Driver’s License Required
• Able to pass Background Check

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Skills in coordinate geometry and trigonometry
• Familiarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting including AutoCAD or Carlson preferred and MicroStation

Working Conditions

• Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking.
• Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
• Field work is required 5% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
