Survey Technician
Major Tasks
- Perform research of county, city, and other sources of record information on easements, deeds and other pertinent information, and utilize it to prepare working sketches for field crews.
- Utilize Trimble Business Center software to process field crew data and produce files for import into AutoCAD.
- Utilize field crew data files (points), field sketches, photos and reference maps to create survey base drawings.
- Utilize AutoCAD software to produce detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and other various survey related maps or exhibits.
- Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way, easements, acquisition parcels, etc.
- Perform QA/QC procedures on work prepared by themselves and others.
Job Skill Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of mathematics used in field survey analysis.
- Thorough understanding and ability to apply methods and standards of technical report writing and computer-assisted surveying applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to read and interpret a variety of maps, title reports, and legal descriptions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to draft reports and letters.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Standard Work Schedule
Topographic, Inc. in office Standard business hours is Monday-Friday from 6am-7pm. The specific schedule for this role will be based on location and department.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Travel
Travel to worksites may be required.
