Survey Technician

About the role

R. Joe Harris & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to support licensed surveyors and civil engineers in creating accurate survey drawings for various land development and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Draft boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, as-builts, and construction surveys using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Import, process, and organize field survey data.
• Prepare plats, maps, and legal exhibits meeting company, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with field crews, surveyors, and engineers to ensure data accuracy and drawing quality.
• Apply consistent survey standards, layering, and CAD templates across projects.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of survey data, coordinates, and legal descriptions.
• Attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related experience in surveying or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
