Survey Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate the survey total station and level instruments.
• Organize and maintain all survey field equipment.
• Aid the Crew Chief with survey files and field calculations.
• Transport and set up surveying equipment and instruments.
• Implement safety plans and risk mitigation measures.
• Clear vegetation or debris as directed for surveying measurements.
• Record measurements by operating prism and level rods.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and Group Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Entry level, 0+ years of experience
• Ability to travel
• Valid driver’s license, clean background check, and drug screening
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Attention to detail
• Quality oriented
• Patient
• Team oriented
• Responds well to constructive criticism
• Service oriented demeanor

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Subject to outside environmental conditions, including weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments.
• Primarily involves long-term standing and frequent walking, with occasional standing up to 10-12 hours a day.
• Requires the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
• May involve weekend and overtime work, as well as overnight work and travel.
• Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
