Survey Technician
Principal Responsibilities
Process data using IMEG CAD standards, including evaluation of accuracy, while ensuring compliance with applicable land survey project and professional standards under the direction of your supervisor and a licensed professional.
Monitor field crew’s production and provide quality assurance.
Research historical maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports.
Provide survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects.
Prepare cadastral, existing conditions and platting from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil software.
Carry out initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practices.
Coordinate with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met.
Act as a field technician as requested to complete survey field work.
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Associate degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred
- Prior experience in the land surveying, consulting or construction industry is preferred
- Gain knowledge of survey operations, principles, and practices
- Knowledge of engineering plans and construction documents
- Knowledgeable of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques
- Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD or similar applications are a plus
- Proficiency in technical math, geometry, and trigonometry is recommended
- Possess basic oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with clients, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG
- Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
- Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
