Survey Superintendent (Nationwide Travel)

This is an evergreen opportunity supporting upcoming solar and BESS EPC projects across the U.S. Survey Superintendents are placed on project sites for the duration of the build (typically 8–12 months) and then transition to the next project. This is on-site work with hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time or as established by the site. Overtime and weekend work will be required as needed. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily field operations of a survey crew.
  • Determine the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys ranging from primary control through construction layout and as-built surveys, as needed.
  • Understand and follow directions; proficient with documentation of work performed and sketches.
  • Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding project schedule and work progress.
  • Interact professionally with client representatives and landowners.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications and understand all aspects of the project specifications and tolerances.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of solar or construction experience; survey leadership experience is preferred.
  • Experience in solar, commercial, or utility-scale projects.
  • Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (listening, writing, and verbal).
  • Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in all-weather climates.
  • Good attitude, eager, willing to learn, and proactive.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in constructing PV and/or ESS projects.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Physical Demands

  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. Assistance recommended for items over 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).
  • Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
  • Requires repetitive movement.
