Survey Rodman

Responsibilities

• Drive metal and wood stakes
• Hold survey rod
• Prepare survey supplies and equipment
• Maintain equipment
• Stock adequate surveying supplies
• Carry equipment from the truck to the survey site
• Assist with other field duties as part of the data collection process

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong work ethic and dependability
• Ability to work with minimal supervision after training
• Ability to retain and follow verbal instructions
• Consistent punctuality and superb attendance
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Stamina to work in a physically demanding position all day and in all types of weather
• Willingness to occasionally travel during the week (home by weekend)

Qualifications

• Physical ability to maneuver over rough, uneven terrain, ditches, roadsides, etc., while carrying loads of 40-50 lbs.
• Ability to work up to 10-12 hours per day when needed
• Capability to use small hand tools and power tools
• Ability to set stakes
• Capability to use a machete, brush hook, or other tool to cut light brush
• Ability to wear hearing protection when working near heavy traffic and highways, hard hat if required, and clothing appropriate for the weather
• No short pants allowed
• Ability to pass drug and background checks
