Survey - Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of surveying projects, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight
  • Coordinate with field crews and office staff on boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, control, and construction surveys
  • Review and verify technical accuracy of survey deliverables, including plats, legal descriptions, calculations, and staking reports
  • Support training and mentorship of junior staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and technical standards
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center (preferred) for processing and drafting
  • Engage in client relationship management, proposal preparation, and business development to expand the survey practice
  • Collaborate across internal disciplines to support multidiscipline project delivery

Requirements

  • Professional Land Surveyor registration (PLS) or ability to obtain licensure with having 5+ years of professional land surveying experience
  • Solid understanding of land surveying principles, legal considerations, and field-to-finish workflows
  • Manage projects including budgeting, scheduling, and invoicing
  • Communicate technical information clearly in writing and verbally
  • Mentor staff, provide technical oversight, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of technological advances, principles, techniques and processing of lidar data

Preferred Capabilities

  • Experience with Trimble Business Center
  • Demonstrated success in client development and practice growth initiatives
  • Lead small survey projects or field teams
  • Experience with complex land development or infrastructure surveying projects

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional land surveying experience
  • Professional Land Surveyor registration (PLS) or ability to obtain licensure
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency
