What You’ll Do
- Lead daily survey field operations, guide field crews, and ensure safe, accurate data collection across dynamic outdoor project environments.
- Conduct daily Tailgate Safety Meetings, support Job Safety Analyses, reinforce field protocols, and maintain safe crew practices.
- Collect, verify, and process survey field data while maintaining organized field notes, sketches, control documentation, and naming conventions.
- Perform control checks, traverse angle closures, level run validations, boundary surveys, construction staking, and topographic surveys.
- Cookordinate with Project Managers and Land Surveyors on project goals, progress, equipment, timesheets, vehicle use, and field issue resolution.
What We’re Looking For
- A High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or survey crew leader.
- Experience with Leica GPS, scanning, total station systems, and data collection survey equipment highly preferred.
- A valid driver’s license, ability to drive a company vehicle, travel regularly to project sites, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- A safety mindset, organization, attention to detail, collaboration, integrity, respect, sound judgment, and ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading field crews across boundary, topographic, construction staking, transportation, or infrastructure survey assignments.
- Ability to work outdoors in physically challenging conditions and traverse uneven ground in all types of weather.
- Comfort collaborating with engineering, GIS, planning, survey, and project delivery teams to meet quality standards and deadlines.
- A curious and improvement-minded approach with the ability to mentor field staff and continuously strengthen field execution.

Compensation + Benefits
- Salary range: $64,480-$77,000; actual compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, and other factors and excludes the value of benefits.
