Key Responsibilities
- Lead survey field crew on a variety of projects including boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, and as-built surveys.
- Perform field measurements using total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
- Set, recover, and verify survey control points and benchmarks.
- Perform construction layout and verify grades, alignments, and elevations.
- Maintain accurate and organized field notes, sketches, and electronic data.
- Ensure field work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and project specifications.
- Cookordination with office staff regarding schedules, deliverables, and project needs.
- Review field data for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
- Aid in training and mentoring junior field staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of field surveying experience, including prior experience leading survey crews.
- Strong knowledge of land surveying principles, procedures, and equipment.
- Proficient in the use of total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
- Ability to read and interpret survey plans, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Highly attentive to detail and committed to accuracy and quality.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- New Jersey Surveying License is a plus but not required.

Compensation
$31 - $42 per hour commensurate with experience.
