About the role

Join our Columbus, Ohio office as a full-time Survey Party Chief to lead a field services crew. This senior-level role oversees complex survey projects, ensuring data integrity, high-quality assurance standards, and successful project delivery. You will mentor survey staff, resolve technical challenges, and coordinate with project managers and clients. Daily travel to project locations in company vehicles is required, with potential for extended overnight travel. Fieldwork occurs year-round in all weather conditions.

Our collaborative, open office environment allows you to work across multiple disciplines using the latest technologies, including LiDAR, GPS, robotic total stations, and drone/UAS surveying. You will apply advanced survey principles, knowledge of applicable codes, safety requirements, and standards to review technical reports and maintain project schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead a field survey crew in the execution of complex survey projects.
• Ensure data integrity and high-quality assurance standards.
• Mentor and guide survey staff.
• Resolve technical challenges in the field.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Review technical reports and maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Operate and maintain advanced survey equipment (total stations, GPS, automatic levels, CADD software).
• Adhere to professional and ethical responsibilities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant professional surveying experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and appropriate insurance.
• Strong background in mathematics.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a team-focused mindset.
• Advanced knowledge of survey equipment (total stations, GPS, automatic levels, CADD software).
• Ability to lift and transfer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, either assisted or unassisted.
