Essential Job Functions
- Cuts and clears brush and trees from the line of survey, using brush hook, knife, ax, or other cutting tools
- Places stakes at designated points and drives them into the ground at specified elevation, using a hammer or hatchet
- Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying marks
- Aids in the operation of conventional and satellite survey equipment for completion of survey projects
- Loads equipment for transport to worksite; unloads equipment from vehicle to the worksite
- Identifies and utilizes survey equipment properly
- Adheres to all company safety and security policies
- Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
- Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- Ability to understand written material and basic math skills
- Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards
- To obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
- Dependable transportation
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
- Work weekends and overtime as needed
- Committed to attending work each day
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
