No experience required. If you're looking for an opportunity to work outdoors while gaining hands-on training towards a new profession, we'd like to discuss an entry-level Survey Field Technician role in the Survey/Geomatics industry with you.
Responsibilities
- Load truck with the necessary equipment and supplies needed throughout the day.
- Transport and set up instruments/equipment and prepare the job site for the survey.
- Clear brush and trees away from the survey line.
- Hold the prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations of different points.
- Measure distances between points using tape or electronic equipment.
- Assist with various pieces of survey equipment.
- Operate surveying equipment with supervisor oversight.
Requirements
- High School diploma and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school.
- Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history.
- Ability to travel; some overnight travel may be required.
- Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project.
- Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines (machete use).
- Adequate knowledge of equipment and ability to set up for various types of work.
- Ability to hold and proficiently use a prism pole, rods, and other measuring devices.
- Ability to lift the pieces of equipment required for a project.
