Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction staking surveys using GPS, total stations, and data collectors
- Accurately collect and record field data in accordance with project requirements
- Collaborate with the Survey Crew Chief, project teams, and contractors to ensure precise data collection and staking
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field equipment as needed
- Read and interpret survey notes, plans, and maps to guide fieldwork
- Ensure all field activities follow company standards, OSHA safety procedures, and applicable regulations
- Travel to job sites daily; work in a variety of field conditions and weather environments
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of field surveying experience preferred
- Experience operating GPS units, total stations, and data collectors
- Familiarity with Trimble equipment is a plus
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and instruments
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, bend, twist, and perform repetitive tasks
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to project sites
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards and Illinois labor laws

Work Environment
- Daily travel to field sites—must be comfortable working in outdoor environments year-round
- Typical start time is 6:00 AM or earlier depending on project needs
