Responsibilities
- Supervise Field Operations: Direct field crews on boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and construction staking.
- Operate Equipment: Use high-precision tools including robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS receivers, digital levels, and data collectors.
- Interpret Plans: Read and understand complex engineering plans, construction drawings, legal descriptions, and project specifications.
- Record Data: Maintain clear field notes, sketches, and daily progress reports.
- Communicate: Coordinate project status with project managers, clients, and landowners on-site.
- Maintain Safety: Enforce company safety rules and protocols in active traffic or construction zones.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of progressive land surveying experience.
- Education: High school diploma required; a 2- or 4-year degree in geomatics, land surveying, or civil engineering is preferred.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license; certifications like LSIT (Land Surveyor-in-Training) or NSPS Certified Survey Technician (CST) are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with data collection software and basic familiarity with CAD (like AutoCAD Civil 3D).
