About the role
McClure is currently searching for a Survey Crew Chief to support projects in the Iowa City metro and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant contact with Project Managers and Engineers to define and obtain the scope of field work needed.
- Showcase ability to learn field staking procedures for land surveying, construction staking, and existing conditions survey from past technical experience or construction-related careers.
- Limited scope and inform office of additional requests based on the end result of field work as it relates to the finished design and project scope.
- Knowledge of earthworks, foundation construction, wall construction, site utilities, and paving.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with all staff.
- Strong ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of CAD, other engineering/technical skills, and McClure-Drive Standards.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Resolve conflicts that may arise while on survey sites.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of civil drawings, construction processes, and construction codes.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Read and interpret documents.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Willing to learn.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years related experience preferred, which can include a technical profession or construction-related background.
- Driver’s license required – this role will assist in driving a Survey truck to and from job sites.
Qualifications
