Summary: The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for measuring, inspecting, updating, and documenting many different types of surveys using specialized surveying instruments. They will determine the precise location of roads, bridges, buildings, and proper depths for building foundations. Responsibilities:Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materialsProvide checking of as-built conditions that require the use of surveying techniquesProvide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantitiesProvide quantity calculations as requiredPrepares documentation of surveying activitiesMaintain condition and adjustment of surveying equipmentCoordinate surveying activities to meet construction requirementsAbility to use all surveying equipment and techniquesResponsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rulesCompiles notes, sketches and records of data obtained, and work performedKnowledge of the methods of calculations employed in leveling, traversing, stadia, topographic surveys, mapping, construction surveys, laying out curves and determination of volumesDirect Foreman, Instrument Person(s), Rod/Chain Person(s), and other subordinate members of survey team in safe manner. Perform layout work, check as-built conditions, and stake out clearing boundaries and reference points on siteCompare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objectsCreate digital maps and detailed reports Qualifications:3-5 years of surveying in construction or a design atmosphereFamiliar with all types of survey equipmentTrimble software, preferably Trimble AccessUAV license is not required but would be a plusAutoCAD is not required but would be a plusStrong work ethicTime ManagementAttention to detailProblem solving skillsTeam playerWorks within precise limits or standards of accuracyPlans work and select proper toolsVisualizes objects in three dimensions from plans and drawingsStrong decision-making skillsKapur is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer.
