Responsibilities
- Assists in performing a subset of tasks for project planning including pricing, planning, estimation, and coordination of tasks for a project.
- Leads field efforts with Clients, Project Managers, Managers, Surveyors, Geomaticist, stakeholders, and others solving issues and challenges that arise in the field.
- Takes measurements and collects information using high tech equipment for a variety of various projects in various Business Units.
- Analyzes survey data and makes calculations.
- Drafts plans and plots data using computer software.
- Prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records, and other survey reports.
- Sets out reference points on mining and construction activities.
- Prepares and reviews finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records, and other survey reports.
- Reviews field data, reports, and maps to ensure proper QA techniques, provides feedback and coaching back to project team.
- Counsels and coaches project team members on surveying practices and procedures.
- Conducts site visits ensuring proper QC standards are followed.
Qualifications
- Two year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying, or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience, or other relevant combination of education and/or experience.
- Skilled in the use and maintenance of survey instruments (GPS, robotics, data collectors, level rods, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge in all aspects of land surveying including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, etc.
- Able to effectively instruct, direct, and lead others in the field.
- Strong knowledge of field surveying practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with office surveying practices and procedures.
