About the role

The individual in this role is a highly skilled and experienced professional, adept at translating intricate field survey data into precise and sophisticated drawings and maps using advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This senior position demands a comprehensive understanding of both surveying principles and CAD techniques, enabling autonomous management of complex drafting projects.

Responsibilities

• Creating, editing, and overseeing intricate CAD drawings and 3D models
• Executing meticulous calculations
• Ensuring that all work adheres to exacting standards of accuracy and quality
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Mentoring less experienced CAD technicians
• Assisting with the creation and implementation of templates and checklists to increase efficiency and accuracy of department projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field preferred but not required; equivalent work experience may be accepted
• Senior-level position requiring 5+ years of CAD experience
• Proven leadership skills with ability to manage workload while providing support and mentorship to junior CAD technicians
• Ability to perform a wide array of survey maps including topo, ALTA, Boundaries, Subdivision Plats, etc.
• In-depth understanding and ability to read construction plans, procedures and perform field calculations
• Ability to perform essential functions with minimal oversight
• Proficient understanding of survey drafting practices with ability to apply knowledge to other surveying types with minimal assistance

Pay

Minimum $29 per hour depending upon experience
