Surveillance Observer - Part Time

About the role

• Knowledge of and enforcement of all gaming laws and regulations applicable to the Surveillance Department.
• Observes activities of customers and team members in all gaming and money handling areas.
• Reports to Surveillance Supervisor and Director of Surveillance; notifies gaming commission agents and/or Mississippi State Tax Commission agents when appropriate.
• Ensures compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with customers and fellow team members.
• Performs any and all duties as assigned by a supervisor or member of management.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, computation of rates, ratios, percentages, and interpretation of bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Knowledge of database software.
• Must be able to obtain a Gaming Permit.
• Thorough knowledge of casino operations, casino games, cheating and embezzlement scams, and video surveillance equipment.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Pay

Starting salary: $15.00 per hour. Initial placement within the salary range is based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
