About the role
The Surveillance Agent aids in the overall protection of the Casino. Agents guard against internal and external threats through the use of gaming and security cameras. They ensure all surveillance equipment is operating at the start, during, and completion of each shift, maintain accurate logs, and uphold the confidentiality of all Hotel/Casino information. Agents report incidents to the Director of Surveillance, Surveillance Manager, or on-shift Surveillance Supervisor and communicate with pit personnel by phone.
Responsibilities
- Operate a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system to monitor casino activities and prepare reports and logs.
- Assist with the training of new employees.
- Ensure knowledge of all slot/game procedures and Title 31 of the Virginia State Gaming Commission.
- Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on an “as needed” basis.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule.
- Handle large amounts of information and take appropriate action to correct situations.
- Use office equipment and computers, and participate in ongoing games protection training.
- Interact with other departments, law enforcement, and court personnel.
- Obtain and maintain a VA Gaming License from the VA Lottery.
Requirements
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Must possess all forms of dexterity and mobility throughout all shifts.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Must satisfactorily complete a 90-day surveillance training program.
- Neat, professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
- Friendly, outgoing personality and ability to interface effectively with the public and co-workers.
Qualifications
- One year of games surveillance experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a security, casino, or surveillance-related field preferred.
- Knowledge of all Casino/Hotel operations preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Pay
Hourly rate: $16.00 per hour.
