About the Role

This IT professional supports facilities-based systems across nearly 200 statewide agency locations, including secure sites. The role covers design, planning, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, documentation, and troubleshooting for surveillance, door control, building automation, telecommunication, network, server, workstation, storage, and surveillance-specific equipment.

Top Skills & Experience

  • Cisco networking knowledge: Routers and switches (3 years' experience)
  • Web filtering knowledge: Palo Alto and Zscaler (1 to 2 years' experience)
  • Video surveillance knowledge: Network, server, and workstation environments (1 to 2 years' experience)
  • Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills: Door controls knowledge, Building automation knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Support facilities-based systems, including surveillance, door control, building automation, and telecommunication systems.
  • Participate in all aspects of system design, planning, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and ongoing support.
  • Support desktop PCs, servers, network devices, storage solutions, and surveillance-specific equipment.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and monitor multiple statewide networks.
  • Support web filtering technologies, including Palo Alto and Zscaler, and mitigate issues as they arise.
  • Create, maintain, and update extensive system documentation.
  • Provide documentation, project tracking, and management reporting.
  • Provide tactical and strategic input on overall systems planning and related projects.
  • Perform work independently across nearly 200 statewide agency locations, including secure sites.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues using sound judgment, creativity, adaptability, delegation, and improvisational skills.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in surveillance, network, and server support or a related field.
  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals independently.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Work is performed at agency locations statewide and may include many secure sites.
  • Day travel is required; long days are common.
  • Must be comfortable managing priorities in the field while working independently.
