Surgical Technology Student - PRN
About the role
We are seeking first and second year Surgical Technology Students to support the meticulous preparation of surgical instrumentation. This includes decontamination, inspection, and terminal sterilization using various methods such as Autoclave, GI, and soak sterilization. The role also involves cleaning and sterilizing flexible scopes, verifying biological testing outcomes, assisting with room turnovers, monitoring OR room temperatures and humidity, and collaborating with the OR team.
Responsibilities
- Executes various sterilization methods including Autoclave, GI, and soak sterilization
- Cleans and sterilizes flexible scopes
- Efficiently verifies biological testing outcomes
- Aids the OR team members with room turnovers
- Maintains temperature and humidity levels in OR rooms
- Collaborates with other team members to complete the daily schedule
- Maintains inventory and restocks supplies
- Uses software and computers provided
- Identifies opportunities for quality improvement
- Participates in meetings and committees
- Maintains certifications
- Performs effectively in emergencies
- Applies knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control policies
- Excellence in communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Requirements
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program. First and second year Surgical Technology students are encouraged to apply! BLS certification is required; can be obtained upon hire. Sterilization Processing Room experience and education is helpful. IHACSMM certification preferred.

Schedule
This position is PRN (pick up shifts as you are available), Monday - Friday, with no nights, weekends, or holidays.
