Surgical Technologists: 40hrs/week, Evening

About the role

Surgical technologists are allied health professionals who work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work independently in the scrub role and function as a circulator under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse.
• Maintain sterile field.
• Prepare operating rooms and assist with patient positioning as needed.
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintain sterility while scrubbed, maintain sterility of instruments and supplies.
• Perform accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and procedures.
• May require on-call duties and rotating shifts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program (CST)
• NYS LPN also acceptable
• 1 to 3 years of scrubbing experience preferred
• Familiar with all specialty services preferred

Pay

$64,972.00 - $97,458.00
