Surgical Technologists: 40hrs/week, Days

About the role

Surgical technologists are allied health professionals who work in the operating room, supporting surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of an RN and a surgeon to prepare the operating room and assist with patient positioning.
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintain sterility while scrubbed, and ensure the sterility of instruments and supplies.
• Accurately count instruments, sponges, and needles following established policies and procedures.
• Function independently in the scrub role and under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse as a circulator.
• Maintain independence and flexibility to handle on-call duties and rotating shifts as required.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program (CST).
• NYS LPN also acceptable.
• One to three years of scrubbing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with all specialty services preferred.
