Surgical Technologist Weekender Flex - Neuro/Spine OR - Neuro Expansion
About the role
Join Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute and become part of one of the world’s most respected healthcare organizations. We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by organizing supplies and equipment.
- Set up the sterile table and ensure appropriate supplies, drugs and equipment are available.
- Absorb and count all sponges, instruments, etc. at appropriate times during surgery.
- Assist in gowning and gloving surgical team members and draping patients.
- Ensure aseptic condition is maintained by the scrubbed surgical team through the procedure.
- Collect, identify and label specimens removed during surgical procedures and give specimens to circulator for disposition.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program, accredited through Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
- Completion of military surgical technology program meets the educational requirements of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
- Certification of either CST or TS-C required for candidates who have not completed an accredited Surgical Technology program:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Certified Tech in Surgery (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Benefits
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). Pay
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $28.50 Maximum hourly: $39.00
Schedule
Orientation is Mon-Fri, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Weekend Shifts: 12 hours
Weekday Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm
