Surgical Technologist - Surgical Services

About the Role

Under the leadership of the department director and the supervision of an RN, the Surgical Technologist is responsible and accountable for working intra-operatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgical environment for patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the hospital and department.

Key aspects of this position include quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations, and a broad professional knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic surgical environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year scrub experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital or multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center (preferred).
• Graduate of a surgical technologist training program (strongly preferred). Extensive hospital surgical technologist experience may be considered in lieu of formal training.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification (required).
• Surgical Technologist certification (strongly preferred).

Schedule

• 10-hour shifts: 0900–1930.
• Call required.

Pay

• Pay range: $45.05 to $60.27 per hour (based on years of applicable experience).
• Shift differentials:
  • Evening shift: +$2.78 per hour.
  • Night shift: +$4.17 per hour.
