Surgical Technologist Instructor (CST)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate daily lesson plans, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on demonstrations for individuals and groups.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Monitor attendance, track student progress, and address academic concerns.
  • Maintain student grades, submit final grades, and update records.
  • Proactively work to reduce student withdrawals (target: 80% success rate).
  • Ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Cookordinate guest speakers, field trips, and clinical/externship opportunities.
  • Aid students with curriculum-related questions and career guidance.

Administrative Duties

  • Submit weekly attendance reports.
  • Notify leadership if a student’s average falls below 77%.

Education

  • Minimum Requirements: Associate Degree from an accredited higher education institution.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (or equivalent military training).
  • Experience: 3+ years of operating room experience within the last five years (required), Three years of teaching in the field of surgical technology. (preferred), Any other additional certifications or licenses required by the state. (required).

Skills

  • Strong communication (verbal/written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
