Surgical Technologist III- Labor and Delivery

Job Summary

36-hour night shifts, 3 x 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a), weekend and holiday rotations.

Essential Functions

• Participates in time-out procedures.
• Attains extra supplies and equipment as needed.
• Sets up equipment independently.
• Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
• Maintains operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
• Prepares patients for surgery, positioning them on the operating table and covering with sterile drapes.
• Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• No experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
• Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist [CST] - NBSTSA preferred.
• Medical Technician [New Hampshire License] - NH Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy preferred.
• Three (3) years of diversified experience in the operating/procedure room, five (5) years of experience preferred, and one (1) year of experience working and leading teams, three (3) years preferred.
• Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
