About the Role
This position provides direct patient care and functions as a resource person for one or more specialties, demonstrating basic patient care concepts, surgical asepsis, and basic surgical case preparation.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe and sterile environment for the patient and the O.R. team, using equipment according to operating room manual.
- Transports patients and specialty equipment in accordance with safety policy.
- Provides patient care during the intra-operative phase of surgery using physician preference cards and organizing/prioritizing care activities based on patient or environmental changes.
- Functions as a first scrub in cases including but not limited to: general/GYN, ENT, plastics, basic/minor ortho/neuro, dental/ortho, urology/cysto, and basic vascular procedures.
- Demonstrates proper care of instrumentation, including cleaning and sterilization of surgical equipment.
- Performs surgical skills independently: opening surgical supplies, gowning and gloving the surgical team, basic patient positioning, between-case cleaning, terminal cleaning of ORs and surgical suite, and circulating tasks as directed.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program or its equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of employment at Luminis Health (one year in a surgical technologist position) or two years of surgical technologist experience at another institution.
- American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification.

Pay
$26.25—$39.01 USD per hour.
