Surgical Technologist (Full Time)
Responsibilities
Assists the nurse in giving nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Affords assistance to the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures.
Maintains the operating suite in a prepared state for each procedure.
Monitors the Par level of all surgical instruments and supplies.
Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
Acts as a patient advocate while fostering teamwork with physicians and other personnel.
Requirements
Demonstrates the ability to manage pressure to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and handle rapidly changing situations.
Demonstrates the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals, handle stressful situations, and resolve conflicts.
Performs all job duties or tasks as directed.
Complies with all Benefis Health System’s organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program, required.
- Operating Room Technologist Certification highly recommended.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the operating room preferred.
