Surgical Technologist Extern PRN

Job Summary

As a Surgical Technologist Extern with Grand Strand Medical Center, you’ll gain valuable hands-on surgical experience while working alongside a highly skilled team committed to caring for and improving human life.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Currently enrolled in a qualifying Surgical Tech Program

Responsibilities

• Organizing and stocking the operating room with instruments, supplies, and equipment to ensure each procedure is fully prepared and supported
• Aiding with patient care before, during, and after surgery, including transport, positioning, and comfort
• Serving as a member of the surgical team by managing sterile instruments, passing tools, and helping with counts and equipment during procedures
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and sterile environment through room turnover, restocking, and infection control practices
• Communicating clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and team members while protecting patient privacy and safety
