Surgical Technologist - CVOR, Full Time, Variable Shift

About the Role

Facilitates physician performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Ensures quality patient care and maintains the sterile field throughout the operative procedure.

Responsibilities

• Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms and brings patient to assigned operating room.
• Passes instruments to surgeon during procedure and anticipates additional supply needs.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed.
• Prepares and secures sterile dressings after incision closure.
• Checks, obtains, and sets up supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures, including sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions.
• Assists in draping the sterile field.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists team members with cleaning the room for turnover and prepping the room for the next patient.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology: Required
• Relevant acute care experience: Preferred
• National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certification: Preferred
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred
