Surgical Technologist (CST), Ambulatory Surgery Center

About the role

Be part of the Same Day Surgery Center Team in Shakopee with occasional travel to other Same Day Surgery Center(s) as needed. This position supports growing services and provides patient care in a fast-paced, multi-specialty Surgical Center. The Surgical Tech (CST) practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity, and caring.

Schedule

• 0.8 FTE / Day Shift
• Variable start times
• Variable shift lengths
• Rotating late shifts
• Occasional travel to alternate sites per rotation

Responsibilities

• Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment for orthopedic surgical procedures
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-related growth and development principles to provide appropriate service and ensure patient safety

Requirements

• Must be certified through one of the following Surgical Technologist Programs at time of hire or obtain certification within the specified timeframe:
  • CST (NBSTSA) within 12 months of hire
  • NCCT (NCCT) within 36 months of hire
• Surgical tech experience required (highly motivated new grads may be considered)

Preferred Qualifications

• SPD (Sterile Processing Department) experience
• Cross training to Sterile Processing
• Currently validated CPR skills or BLS certification
