Job Type

Full-time, Monday through Friday, Day Shift

Location

Silver Spring, MD 20910

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
• Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
• Affixes necessary supplies and equipment to ensure readiness for procedures
• Auxiliaries in patient prep, transfers, and positioning
• Enters patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
• Serves as Radiation Safety Officer and assists with accreditation surveys
• Ensures effective communication with physicians
• Affords assistance with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Valid BLS Certification
• Surgical technologist / Scrub Tech experience: 2 years
• ARRT // CST Certification (Preferred)

Skills

• Proven working experience as a surgical technologist
• Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
• Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
• Working knowledge of interventional equipment

Working Conditions

• Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases
• Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds
• Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required
