Surgical Technologist

Waldo Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Belfast, Maine, part of the Coastal Healthcare Alliance and the MaineHealth system.

About the role

This is a full-time, 36-hour per week, day shift position. Waldo Hospital operates three operating rooms, performing roughly 170 cases per month, including general, OB/GYN, orthopedic, podiatry, ophthalmology, urology, pain management, and ENT surgery. The ORs are staffed weekdays until 3:00 pm. The Surgical Technologist assists the surgeon and Operating Room (OR) RN during surgical procedures.

Experienced Certified Surgical Technologists are eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus. New graduates are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Current MaineHealth employees are not eligible.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology
• Current BCLS certification
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within 6 months of start date
• Positions located in New Hampshire require a New Hampshire Med Tech License or NH EMT License with National Registry Certification
• One year of experience preferred

Pay

The pay range for this position is $27.27 to $36.89 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
