Surgical Technician -TOSH - Sign-on Bonus

Summary of Job Duties

This will be used to fill multiple positions. Sign-on Bonus available for eligible candidates

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Plus Graduate of an NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technology program OR NCCT-approved Surgical Technology program OR Completed military surgical/scrub tech training OR Have two or more years of on-the-job surgical/scrub experience in an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center
• Preferred Qualifications: 1 year Operating room experience (preferred in Orthopedics)Scrub Tech CertificationOrthopedic experience

Responsibilities

• Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies and equipment for assigned cases.
• Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for surgical use.
• Ensures that the instruments are cleaned arranged and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy; independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits;
• Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day’s cases;
• Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects.
• Utilizes available communication tools;
• demonstrates teamwork by offering assistance to other team members;
• Shares knowledge information and expertise with other staff;
• attends departmental in-services and other educational offerings;
• Consistently demonstrates new knowledge and skills through incorporation into actual clinical practice. Willing to learn new techniques.

Customer Service

• Interacts with, and assists, the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
• Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
• Affords exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, as needed.

Commensurate with education and experience
