Summary of Job Duties
This will be used to fill multiple positions. Sign-on Bonus available for eligible candidates
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Plus Graduate of an NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technology program OR NCCT-approved Surgical Technology program OR Completed military surgical/scrub tech training OR Have two or more years of on-the-job surgical/scrub experience in an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center
- Preferred Qualifications: 1 year Operating room experience (preferred in Orthopedics)Scrub Tech CertificationOrthopedic experience
Responsibilities
- Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies and equipment for assigned cases.
- Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for surgical use.
- Ensures that the instruments are cleaned arranged and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy; independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits;
- Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day’s cases;
- Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects.
- Utilizes available communication tools;
- demonstrates teamwork by offering assistance to other team members;
- Shares knowledge information and expertise with other staff;
- attends departmental in-services and other educational offerings;
- Consistently demonstrates new knowledge and skills through incorporation into actual clinical practice. Willing to learn new techniques.
Customer Service
- Interacts with, and assists, the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
- Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
- Affords exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, as needed.
