Surgical Technician, Surgery, Full Time, Days, 12Hr - 8:30a

Responsibilities

• Ensures all instruments, equipment, and supplies are readily available, clean, and in good working condition.
• Accurately sets up sterile field and maintains extra supplies.
• Passes instruments safely and efficiently.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Ensures the correct procedure is prepared for and consented for.
• Assists with the orientation and training of new staff.
• Maintains equipment and assesses supplies based on PAR levels.
• Informs charge nurse or Director of any equipment issues.
• Rotates, removes, and replaces sterile supplies.
• Maintains cleanliness of the OR corridor.
• Transports patients as needed.

Qualifications

• N/A
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment
• Successful completion of a surgical technician program
• Prior surgical technician experience
