Surgical Technician *Per Diem* - Providence Anchorage

About the Role

Position is Per Diem, 0.01 FTE, Day Shift, hours as needed. Located onsite at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.

Responsibilities

• Provides support by anticipating the needs of the Surgeon and other surgical personnel by performing tasks that assist in the care and treatment of patients during the surgical process while maintaining a sterile work environment at all times.
• Performs decontamination of equipment, instruments and completes sterilization process.
• Maintains a positive and professional image when interacting with patients, their families, physicians, employees and general public.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAAHEP) or other program accredited by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program.
• Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting OR Upon hire: National Tech in Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Testing.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Operating Room experience for candidates who have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology Program or have completed other accredited programs by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program. Candidates with equivalent other or at least six months of on the job clinical training must have minimum one year operating room experience scrubbing on surgical procedures.

Pay

Pay Range: $33.17 - $50.74. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. Additional compensation may be available such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
