Job Summary
Prepare and maintain procedure rooms with necessary instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate mastery of sterile technique, sterilization processes, environmental controls, and instrument decontamination.
- Establish and maintain an organized sterile field, ensuring all team members adhere to sterile environment protocols.
- Aid surgeons by providing visualization of the surgical wound, aiding with wound closure, and applying sterile dressings.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures, and advance understanding of instrumentation across various surgical services.
- Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to established procedures.
Required Job Requirements
- Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist Program.
- Certified First Assistant - Certified Surgical Technologists (CST/CSFA).
- Unlicensed Assistive Person: ND (UAP:ND).
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR).
