About the role
Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads (an Inspire Aesthetics Group Partner) provides a comfortable, compassionate, and safe plastic surgery experience. Our award-winning plastic surgeons have over 90 years of experience and are known for their patient-centered approach.
Responsibilities
- Know the name, use and location of medications, supplies and equipment used in the operating room, recovery room, the instrument processing areas and storage.
- Familiar with the use of sterilizer, ultrasonic instrument cleaner, operating room table, lifts and lights, cautery unit, microscope, laser, suction, crash cart, EKG monitor, defibrillator, washer/dryer etc.
- Affirm compliance with regulations and the facility's standards of quality patient care.
- Aid in the operating room set-up with the necessary supplies and equipment for each surgical procedure.
- Aid in the operating room clean-up and decontamination after each surgery.
- Handle and dispose of Biomedical Waste according to policies and procedures.
- Process and send specimens to the lab.
- Maintain sterile field and technique during surgical procedure.
- Ensure instruments/terminal are properly cleaned
- Aid the physician during surgery. Ensure a smooth flow in the operating room.
- Aid with patient care in the clinical setting to include but not limited to, assisting with local procedures, answering patient questions, and rooming patients in the clinic setting.
- Complete charting required for post-op, follow-ups, specimen collection, and consults as needed in the clinical setting.
- Follow strict traffic control and maintain sterile environment in the operating room and recovery room.
- During downtime, assist with facility laundry needs
- Maintain strict aseptic technique at all times.
- Adhere to operating room/office dress code policy.
- Transport, process and sterilize instruments and surgical trays according to established policies and procedures.
- Maintain sterilization records and sterilization quality control records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Perform related work as required.
Requirements
Must be flexible to work in both our Newport News and Williamsburg locations. Must have one year of experience in an ambulatory surgery center. Extensive knowledge of sub-sterile policies and procedures is preferred. ACLS and BLS certifications are preferred. Surgical Technician Certification is required.

Four 10 hour days. Typically 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
