Surgical Technician

Position Summary

Be part of the BMC Brighton team dedicated to advancing diagnostic excellence and improving patient outcomes. As a member of the Labor and Delivery surgical team, the surgical technician provides patient care during surgical procedures by providing an aseptic and safe environment.

Duties

• Prepping and sterilizing rooms
• Transporting patients
• Passing instruments
• Providing assistance to surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other staff during surgery

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A graduate of an accredited/approved program in surgical technology (or completed an Armed Forces medic or corpsmen program)
• Surgical Technician certification required or Surg Tech experience prior to 2013 as dictated by MA law
• Previous surgical tech experience preferred

Experience and Skills

• Ability to effectively speak, read, and write English
• Accurate interpretation and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
• Computer proficiency to access and enter computerized data/information
• Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families, physicians, and other hospital staff
• Organizational skills to effectively set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work

Sign-On Bonuses

• $10,000 sign-on bonus for candidates with over 1 year of multi-specialty experience, paid out after successfully completing 6 months of employment.
• $5,000 sign-on bonus for candidates with less than 1 year or single specialty experience, paid out after successfully completing 6 months of employment.

Compensation

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
