Surgical Tech - Certified
Full-time Certified Surgical Tech working Monday - Friday, 6:30a - 5:00p with a rotating day off (e.g., Tuesday off one week, Wednesday off the following week, Thursday off the next week). Every four weeks, a 4-day weekend is provided through Friday and Monday off on the rotation.
Some call is required, typically 2-3 days a month, with 1 weekend call every 6-8 weeks or so.
Job Mission
The Certified and Non-Certified Surgery Tech holds a safety sensitive position and provides aid in functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
Occupational Experience
- Previous surgical tech experience preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certified Surgical Techs require certification through NBSTA upon hire.
- Current BLS certification required upon hire.
Specialty Knowledge Skills
- Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current Surgical and Sterile procedures that are unit/age specific.
