Surgical Tech Certified

About the Role

As our Certified Surgical Tech, you will work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN, bringing your certified expertise to keep the operating room organized, sterile, and ready for safe, efficient surgical procedures.

• Arrange and inventory sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical cases.
• Pass items to surgeons and nurses as needed throughout the procedure.
• Assist in preparing and moving patients.
• Sterilize and clean instruments, equipment, and rooms between cases.
• Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures by checking package integrity, indicators, and opening procedures.
• Perform appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation, before incision is closed, and as needed.
• Prepare back table and mayo stand anticipating needs of the surgeon through the use of the surgeon’s preference card.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
• Provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.
• Anticipate possible problems or complications that could arise during a case and adjust quickly for emergent cases that change workflow.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.
• Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. *A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech.
• Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in a surgical setting.
• Experience in a specialty field.

Pay

$26.37 - $39.90 /hour
