Position Overview

The Surgical Services Manager is a full-time, salaried managerial position with 24-hour accountability for assurance of quality patient care within the Surgical Services department.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a collaborative approach to patient-centered care through management of a multidisciplinary team inclusive of staff nurses, operating room technicians and central service technicians.
  • Direct liaison with the medical staff. Works cooperatively with nurse anesthetists and the Chief of Surgery.
  • Key role in the implementation of strategic planning with the Patient Services management team.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and implementation of all regulatory standards within the Surgical Services department.
  • Affirms personnel are competent to participate in infection monitoring, prevention, and control activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Prioritize a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and/or additional educational preparation in management
  • Previous Operating Room experience preferred
  • Licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse in good standing
  • Current BLS certification at hire
  • Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite Skills - Able to perform fairly detailed formatting, create Word and Excel files, write formulas and prepare charts for reports

Qualifications
