Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate shift operations including schedules and resources.
- Assist surgeons during surgery, providing required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon and assisting with hemostasis.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
- Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching.
- Provide input to staff performance evaluations.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required:
- Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Qualifications
- 3 years of OR experience (preferred)
- 2 years of Neurosurgery experience (preferred)
