Surgical Scheduler - New Jersey (FT, Days)

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5pm. Most office days will be in office located in Sewell, NJ and Turnersville, NJ. Candidate will be able to work remote for some days after completing the 90-day probationary period.

About the Role

The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to: obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure.
• Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.
• Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors.
• Ability to process and interpret data.
• Ability to multi task while managing a time sensitive workload.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use. Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.

Pay

Salary Range: $17.78 to $25.33 Hourly. The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive. Positions posted as annual salaries reflect an estimated amount for a 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) (i.e. 40 hour equivalent); positions for less than 1.0 FTE will be prorated.
