Surgical Reprocessing Technician / Day Shift / Contingent / 7:00am - 3:30pm
About the Role
Under general supervision of the Coordinator/Manager/Director, this role involves cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packaging, disinfecting, and sterilizing all surgical products used to support physicians and the surgical team in inpatient, outpatient departments, Operating Room, Emergency Room, Delivery Room, and satellites.
Responsibilities include documenting and monitoring all sterilization processes (steam, ETOH, Sterrad, and high-level disinfectants) and ensuring compliance with standards. The role also involves supplying the needs of various departments, managing sterile supply inventory, and coordinating with surgical specialty teams to prepare case carts according to surgeon preference cards.
Schedule
PRN/Contingent, Day Shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, includes weekends.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of a medical terminology course is preferred.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and hospital personnel.
- Computer skills.
- Successful completion of the 120-day orientation, including department and hospital orientation processes.
- Maintain competence during the evaluation year, including department standards, objectives, in-service, and continuing education.
- Central Service Certification required.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) preferred.
